Ryan & Lindsay Griffin began as hobbyist beekeepers. After enjoying the fruits of their bees’ labor, they began planning to expand into a farm operation. To date, they keep several dozen hives, provide training, consulting, and assist their community.

2025 Nucs are available to order!

A nucleus colony, commonly known as a “nuc,” is a small, functioning honey bee colony typically housed in a compact box of 5 frames. Each nuc includes a laying queen, worker bees, brood in various stages of development (eggs, larvae, and pupae), and food stores such as honey and pollen. This configuration allows the nuc to develop into a full-sized colony during the season, when transferred to a standard hive and provided with appropriate care.

The nucs we provide come in the Jester EZ Nuc corrugated plastic box. While it will stand up to the elements for several seasons, it’s primarily intended to hold the bees for transfer, so that they can be placed into a more traditionally sized hive
